Tasty Tuesday Kick Off

Good Morning Everyone,

I'm glad you made it back for our first of many recipe sharing days.I will do my best to bring you not only tasty, easy, frugal recipes but approx. cost for ingredients as well. Today I want to share with all of you the best Black Eyed Peas I have ever tasted. There are so many different recipes for this, some with ham hocks, bacon, salt pork, chorizo. There really isn't a right or wrong recipe, just personal preference. These are just in time for the New Year. If you listen to most southerners, they will tell you that you must eat your black-eyed peas on New Year's Day. Your good luck for the coming year depends on it. I don't know about you but good luck for the New Year is always welcome here. So go ahead and add this to your own recipe box and enjoy...

Creamy Black Eyed Peas

1-Bag of Black Eyed Peas
1-Lg Can of Broth
1-Pint Heavy Whipping Cream
1-Bunch of Green Onions
1-Package Sausage (You can use brand of your choosing)
1-Tsp garlic powder
Season Salt & Pepper to taste

Rinse peas, and then soak in water over night. In large pot simmer onions and sausage in broth (you can add more broth or water if needed), add peas, garlic powder, season salt, and pepper and cook thoroughly until peas are soft. After cooking is complete, stir in heavy whipping cream (this needs to be added as last ingredient...)

Store Brand Broth-2 for $1.00 I bought four of these to equal one large can
Green Onions-50 cents
Eddy's Smoked Sausage-$2.99
Store Brand Whipping Cream-$2.89

Total Cost-$8.88
