Tip-a-licious Thursday

Every Monday I go to a group called Craft & Conversation at my local Armed Services YMCA. This weekly gathering allows spouses to create social bonds, informal support networks, and promotes healthy, constructive conversation about challenges of the military lifestyle. The group fosters a positive social networking opportunity while offering on-site structured childcare to allow for much needed “adult” time.

This week we painted ceramic tiles & used stencils to make different designs. I used colors to match my kitchen & personalized it with an "H' for our last name. I plan to buy a little stand for mine so I can display it as decoration.
Keep in mind that ceramic tiles can be used in a number of ways:
  1. Coasters-You can paint them, then coat them to protect your artwork. You can also make beautiful photo coasters which happen to make a great gift! Click here for instructions.
  2. Let your kids be creative! They can make a very useful trivet also known as "hot plate." Your kids will have a blast making it & you can use it for years to come! Find the instructions here.
  3. Make unique magnets! Another great craft project to do with kids. Check out what you need by clicking here.
The above are just a few ideas. Get your kids involved or just squeeze in some "adult" time like I did! Have fun & share your creations with us.
