Little Tike Neighborhood Market Review/Giveaway (Closed)

Little Tikes has been manufacturing kids toys since 1970 and celebrated it's 40th anniversary in 2010. I absolutely adore Little Tikes because their toys are durable & loads of fun! I know I had fun "driving" my Cozy Coupe when I was a child. The fantastic thing about Little Tikes is that they encourage kids to get up and be active while playing.

My family had the opportunity to review the Little Tikes Neighborhood Market. What's great about the neighborhood market is that it is three markets in one: bakery, fruit stand, and ice cream shop.

I was pretty stoked to see this box on my front door step when I came home. I rushed inside my house expecting to assemble it in no time! However, it is important for you to know that assembly of the Neighborhood Market may take some time. I tried to assemble this toy with my son right next to me -- ooh boy was that a bad idea! The market comes with a lot of screws and took me about an hour to completely put it together. Although all the screws were a bit annoying, the end result was well worth it! My kids had so much fun playing together, which is quite surprising because they can't stand to be in the same room together. Jae'Sun had loads of fun overcharging his older sister! Apparently Jae'Sun thought his market was located on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills because all his prices were outrageous. Tasty Tuesday

It's a little chilly here in San Diego but of course our "chilly" is 60 degrees. I decided that a perfect meal for a chilly day would be chili beans and cornbread. :) I found this quick and easy recipe! It takes about 20 minutes for it to cook, then it's ready to eat. Enjoy!

Serves 6
Ingredients:
* 1 pound lean ground beef
* 1 white onion, chopped
* 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
* 2 cups water
* 1 (15 ounce) can ranch-style beans
* 1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans
* 1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chile peppers
* 2 tablespoons chili powder
* 1 tablespoon garlic powder
* 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
* 1/4 teaspoon Cajun seasoning

Directions:
In a large pot, cook beef over medium heat until brown. Stir in onion and cook until onion is translucent. Stir in tomato sauce, water, ranch-style beans, kidney beans, chiles, chili powder, garlic powder, cumin and Cajun seasoning. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes.

I was so happy I had time today to do a little frugal shopping. I've been so busy lately that I haven't had much time for anything. Tasty Tuesday

Thanks mom for sharing this recipe with us. Looks great, wish I was there to try it. And a special thank you to Bob and Bonnie for giving her all those pumpkins. Mom loves making bread and my grand kids are going to have fun carving the pumpkins.

Pumpkin Bread

3 1/2 Cups Flour

1 Tsp Baking Powder

2 Tsp Baking Soda

1Tsp ground Cloves

1 Tsp Ground Cinnamon

1 Tsp Ground Nutmeg

1/2 Tsp Salt

2 Cups Solid Packed Pumpkin (the real deal not pie filling)

1 Cup Crisco Oil

3 Cups Sugar

3 Eggs

1 Cup Chopped Walnuts

1 Cup Raisins

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 2 loaf pans with non stick spray. Mix flour,baking powder, baking soda, cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside. With mixer combine pumpkin, oil, sugar and eggs. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Stir in walnuts and raisins. Divide batter between the two loaf pans and bake for 50-55 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean when inserted.

Orange Glaze (optional)

1 1/2 Cup Confectioners Sugar

1 Tsp Grated Orange Peel

6 Tsp Orange Juice

Combine ingredients well. Drizzle over cooled loaves, letting excess run down sides. Sprinkle with additional nuts before glaze hardens.

No Bake Cakes

1-Box/Pkg Cookies

1- Container Whip Cream

Candy, Fruit, Pudding (this depends on what kind of cake you want to make)

I made three different kind as listed below. This truly is the easiest recipe ever. Use the instructions below or customize the cake with your own fillings. The possibilities are endless!

Cake #1-I used 1 Pkg. Oreo cookies and whip cream

Cake #2-I used lemon pudding, whip cream and lemon cookies
Cake #3-I used vanilla wafers, whip cream and snicker bars that I cut into small pieces.

Place a layer of cookies on a small plate. Next drop about a teaspoon of pudding on each cookie, add another layer of cookies (think of the cookies as bricks and the pudding/whip cream as concrete, you wouldn't want to stack all your bricks straight up right? If you did, then it would fall over.) So stack the next layer in between the cookies so it holds up as you continue to layer. Next add the whip cream, continue your layers until you get to your desired height. Once done, frost the entire cake with whip cream so that none of the cookies show. Place it in the frig overnight or at least a couple of hours. That's it! It's all done and ready to eat.

This program allows customers to use their Kroger Plus Card to save on fuel at Kroger Fuel Centers and participating Shell Stations! Read all about the program in their press release:

Dallas-Fort Worth– The Kroger Co., the nation’s largest traditional supermarket retailer, is excited to team up with Shell, the no. 1 selling gasoline brand in the U.S., to give customers in Dallas- Fort Worth and surrounding communities the chance to earn fuel savings at the pump. The exclusive alliance provides Kroger shoppers the opportunity to save on fuels by using their Kroger Plus Card.

Beginning August 30, every time Kroger customers in the area make a purchase with their Kroger Plus Card, they not only save money on their grocery bill but also earn Fuel Points that can be used at the pump. Kroger customers have the opportunity to redeem 100 points per visit to save 10 cents per gallon instantly at Kroger Fuel Centers and now at participating Shell stations. This offer is valid up to 35 gallons per fuel purchase.

“Adding value and savings is an important part of Kroger’s commitment to providing our customers the best possible shopping experience,” said Bill Breetz, president of the Kroger Southwest Division. “In today’s economic times, it’s more important than ever for companies like Kroger and Shell to join forces to offer our customers optimum savings and rewards.”

“We are excited to be teaming up with Kroger to help fill customers’ gas tanks for less,” said Dan Little, North America fuels marketing manager for Shell Oil Products U.S. “With 82 Kroger stores throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth area and more than 400 conveniently located participating Shell stations nearby, it’s never been easier for customers to save on high-quality Shell Nitrogen Enriched Gasolines.”

Customers earn one Fuel Point for every dollar spent on most items when they use their Kroger Plus Card during shopping trips at participating Kroger stores. To help shoppers build up their savings quickly, additional Fuel Points can be earned by purchasing prescriptions or gift cards at Kroger. Customers earn 50 Fuel Points for each filled eligible prescription and two Fuel Points for every dollar spent on third-party gift cards from Kroger’s in-store Gift Card Malls. Shoppers can visit any Kroger store for more details. Fuel Points will be automatically added to Kroger Plus Card accounts and will be reflected on customers’ grocery receipt after every purchase. Customers also have the option of looking online on their “My Kroger” page at to check how many Fuel Points they have earned. Fuel Points must be used during the month they are earned or by the end of the following calendar month.

Customers may redeem their Fuel Points at Kroger Fuel Centers or participating Shell stations by using their Kroger Plus Card at the pump, manually entering their card number or entering their alternate ID, which will initiate the fuel savings. Customers with questions about the grocer rewards program can call Kroger Customer Service at 1-800-576-4377, or they can contact Shell Customer Service at 1-888-GO-SHELL for assistance identifying participating Shell locations.
