Tasty Tuesday

Thanks mom for sharing this recipe with us. Looks great, wish I was there to try it. And a special thank you to Bob and Bonnie for giving her all those pumpkins. Mom loves making bread and my grand kids are going to have fun carving the pumpkins.

Pumpkin Bread

3 1/2 Cups Flour
1 Tsp Baking Powder
2 Tsp Baking Soda
1Tsp ground Cloves
1 Tsp Ground Cinnamon
1 Tsp Ground Nutmeg
1/2 Tsp Salt
2 Cups Solid Packed Pumpkin (the real deal not pie filling)
1 Cup Crisco Oil
3 Cups Sugar
3 Eggs
1 Cup Chopped Walnuts
1 Cup Raisins

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 2 loaf pans with non stick spray. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, cloves, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Set aside. With mixer combine pumpkin, oil, sugar and eggs. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Stir in walnuts and raisins. Divide batter between the two loaf pans and bake for 50-55 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean when inserted.
Orange Glaze (optional)

1 1/2 Cup Confectioners Sugar
1 Tsp Grated Orange Peel
6 Tsp Orange Juice

Combine ingredients well. Drizzle over cooled loaves, letting excess run down sides. Sprinkle with additional nuts before glaze hardens.
